Saturday September 24 girls volleyball was in action at the Douglas Volleyball Tournament, finishing 2-3, moving them to 11-13 overall.

Saturday September 24 girls volleyball was in action at the Douglas Volleyball Tournament, finishing 2-3, moving them to 11-13 overall.

They dropped their first match to Eldorado and their second match to Garden Plain, and then won their third match of pool play against Bluestem.

“We smothered Bluestem and Remington.” Said So. Keera Parks.

The Cats, who have made some considerable improvements since their 3rd place finish at The Ark City Tournament, regret not taking advantage of being up on El Dorado.

“We probably could have beat El Dorado, we lost to them in three (games).” Said Sr. Co-Captain, Emma Chambers.

In the first game in bracket play they were matched up against Remington who was 10-7 entering the tournament.The cats beat Remington, 25-20, and 25-12.

The win put Mulvane in the fifth place game against Winfield. The cats dropped the fifth place match in two games leaving them with sixth place.

The cats didn't go home empty handed, Fr. Alexis Abasolo earned the Wildcats an All Tournament Team selection.

“It was an honor knowing that other coaches in the tournament selected me.” Said Fr. Co-Captain, Alexis Abasolo..
