Former Mulvane Wildcat James Chancellor was named All-KCAC Honorable Mention at Offensive Line. Chancellor stepped into a starting role this season for the Sterling Warriors as a freshman and was key in protecting the quarterback and allowing the offense to run effectively.

"James came in with a lot of expectations from the coaching staff and he was able to meet and exceed those expectations. He has all the tools you are looking for as an offensive lineman and I am excited to see what the future holds for James." said Coach Hansen. Coach Chase Hansen is also a former Mulvane Wildcat (2004) and is the Offensive Coordinator/Recruiting Coordinator for Sterling.

Sterling had a strong season this year and finished up at 9-3 (8-1 conference) and are the 2017 KCAC Champs. In their final game of the regular season, the No. 16 Sterling College Warriors traveled to McPherson to take on the Bulldogs, battling it out from start to finish. After a tie game at the break, Sterling used a strong second half to pull away, defeating the McPherson College Bulldogs 50-34 to become the 2017 KCAC Champions.

Sterling lost in the first round of the NAIA Football Championship Series to the very strong #3 team Morningside College.

James is joined by twin brother Marcus and former Mulvane Wildcat Layne Becker on the Sterling team and the trio hope to make a big impact next year on the Offensive Line.
