The Wildcat Boys team takes 1st place; Girls team takes 2nd place.

The Mulvane Wildcats Cross Country team hosted their one and only home meet on Monday, September 10th and faced off against Augusta, Rose Hill, and Circle. The meet was postponed from the previous Thursday due to rain and muddy course conditions. Both girls and boys teams ran a 4K race.


The Girls race kicked off at 4:30 PM and a group of Wildcats immediate took the lead and set the pace. Sophomore Anna Moon took the lead early and never let up as she posted a 1st place finish with a 17:46 time and a 7:08 mile average. Junior Josie Russell crossed the finish line with an 18:31 time (7:27 mile average) and earned a 4th place medal. Freshman Kaitlyn Frieden was right behind Josie for 5th place with an 18:36 time (7:29 mile average). Freshman Kamryn Nolan was the final Wildcat to medal with a 12th place finish and a 20:23 time (8:12 mile average). The rest of the Wildcats finished as follows: Sophomore Caylee Davis (24th - 20:23 - 8:57 avg), Senior Sally Brownlee (25th - 22:18 - 8:58 avg), Senior Alicia Almirante (28th - 23:11 - 9:19 avg), Sophomore Ashley Hively (31st - 24:23 - 9:48 avg), Sophomore Hayley Owings (33rd - 25:47 - 10:22 avg), and Freshman Emily Owings (35th - 31:33 - 12:41 avg).

The Girls as a team took 2nd place behind Rose Hill. The results are as follows:
1st - Rose Hill - 31 points
2nd - Mulvane - 44 points
3rd - Circle - 57 points
4th - Augusta - 104 points

The Boys race started after the girls race concluded and the boys team had a slew of top 10 finishes. Senior John Thorson lead the Wildcats at the finish line earning a 2nd place medal with a 15:17 time and a 6:09 mile average. Sophomore Kyle Jones earned a 3rd place medal with a 15:25 time and a 6:12 mile average. Junior Justus Kidd was right behind Jones and earned a 4th place medal with a 15:29 time and a 6:13 mile average. Senior Ryan Roderick earned a 5th place medal with a 15:44 time and a 6:20 mile average. Junior Clement Heck finished in 8th place with a 15:49 time and a 6:21 average. Senior Tyler Fox grabbed a 9th place medal with a 15:51 time and a 6:22 mile average. Junior Robby Brown finished in 10th place with a 15:57 time and a 6:25 mile average. The last Wildcat to medal was Freshman Donovan Malone with a 14th place finish with a 16:24 time and a 6:35 mile average. The rest of the Wildcats finished as follows: Senior Nash Brill (18th - 17:10 - 6:54 avg), Freshman Victor Salazar (20th - 17:24 - 7:00 avg), Junior JD Titus (21st - 17:28 - 7:01 avg), Senior Quinn Glaser (27th - 17:55 - 7:12 avg), and Senior Nathan May (35th - 20:06 - 8:05 avg).

The Boys as a team took 1st place and the results are as follows:
1st - Mulvane - 22 points
2nd - Circle - 52 points
3rd - Rose Hill - 61 points
4th - Augusta - 120 points
