The Mulvane Wildcats Women's basketball team grabbed their second win of the season after defeating the Clearwater Indians this past Monday. The Wildcats came out strong in the 1st quarter and outscored the Indians 13-2. Clearwater came back with a decent 2nd quarter and outscored the Cats 8-3, so the Wildcats had a 16-10 halftime lead. A great 14-6 3rd quarter for the Cats gave them a solid 30-16 lead going into the 4th quarter.  An even 15-15 4th quarter gave the Cats a 45-31 victory.

Senior Keera Parks lead the Cats with 17 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal. Junior Carson White dropped in 10 points and had 2 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 steal. Sophomore Kaitlyn Klein created some havoc for the Indians and was able to draw fouls and get to the free throw line 15 times. She ended with 6 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 assist. Senior Alicia Almirante finished with 5 points, 4 reb, and 4 steals. Avery Dillon dropped in 3 points, and Seniors Grace Myears and Mady Tharp finished with 2 points each.

The girls will finish out the regular season and celebrate Senior Night against the Rose Hill Rockets on Thursday, 2/21/2019 at 6:00 PM. The Wildcats will face off against the Indians again in round 1 of Sub-State next Tuesday, 7:00 PM @ Clearwater.
