The Mulvane Women's Soccer team has been busy the last couple of weeks, playing in 5 games in the last 10 days. This past Tuesday, the Cats faced off against the AVCTL D3/D4 top team McPherson. The Mulvane defense played well but was under pressure all evening and the Cats lost 0-4 against the Bullpups. Katie Kanaga ended with 17 saves and the Wildcat offense was only able to get 3 shots on goal.

Just a day before, the Ladies hosted the Ark City Bulldogs as they celebrated Senior night. Before the game the coaches, players, and fans recognized the senior soccer players Alicia Almirante, Grace Myears, and Mady Tharp and their families. Myears and Tharp are 4 year veterans to Mulvane Soccer and Almirante (exchange student from Spain) is playing her first year of soccer with Mulvane. The Wildcats handled the Bulldogs with ease as they scored 2 goals very quickly and added 2 more goals later in the game for the 4-0 win. Freshman Emma Kolbe led the Cats with 1 goal & 2 assists (4 points) followed by Kolbie McDaniel (1 goal & 1 assist - 3 pts), Carson White (1 goal - 2 pts), and Mady Tharp (1 goal - 2 pts). Kanaga had 4 saves in the game.

Last Thursday, Mulvane hosted a tough Circle team and after a tough match, the Cats came out on top 1-0. Kolbie McDaniel had the lone score for the Wildcats and Kanaga had 8 saves in the game. It was a great game and win for Mulvane as the Thunderbirds matched up well with the Wildcats.

Mulvane traveled to Collegiate last Tuesday and had some trouble keeping up with the Spartans and lost 0-4. Kanaga had 13 saves in the game and Mulvane was unable to get any of their 10 shots on goal in the net.

They hosted El Dorado last Monday and was able to overpower the struggling Wildcats. Kolbe led Mulvane with 4 goals & 1 assist (9 points) followed by Emma Anderson (2 goals - 4 points), Kolbie McDaniel (1 goal & 1 assist - 3 points), Carson White (1 goal & 1 assist - 3 points), Sean Neptune (1 goal - 2 points), Katie Kanaga (1 goal - 2 points), and Grace Myears (1 assist (1 point). The Mulvane defense only allowed 3 shots on goal and Kanage ended with 3 saves.

Mulvane is sitting with an 8-3 record (5-2 in league) and will travel to El Dorado tonight to play the Wildcats again. The Varsity game will begin at 6:00 PM and the JV game has been cancelled.
