Coach Jesse Kollmeyer and the rest of the AVCTL D4 coaches sent in their nominations for All League for the 2019 softball season last week and after all the votes were tabulated, Junior Kaydran Russell was voted All League 1st Team for Utility.
If you came out to a game this season, you might find Kaydran behind the plate, on 3rd base, or at Short Stop. Being a vocal leader, you would hear Kaydran calling out situational instructions to the rest of the team before each batter no matter what position she was playing at the time.
Russell led the team at the plate with a batting average of .541 with 20 hits at 37 at bats. She also led the team in runs scored with 12, triples with 3, doubles with 1, stolen bases with 10, on base percentage with .652, and slugging percentage with .676. She also finished the season with 5 RBI's. On defense, Kaydran finished the season with 37 putouts, 1 assist, and 7 errors for a .844 fielding average.
Kaydran doubled up this spring with Softball and Track and she is a state medalist in the 4x800 relay earning 4A All State Honors in Track & Field.
