The 8th grade girls A team were nipped by the Crusaders 24-27 in a nail biter of a game last Thursday. The Cats were in control the first half and went into halftime with a 13-10 lead but the Crusaders had a strong 14 point 3rd quarter to take a 24-20 lead into the 4th quarter. The 4th quarter was a defensive battle as the Wildcats held the Crusaders to only 3 points, but could only garner 4 points themselves. Addison Mackey and Madison Shaw lead the cats with 8 points each and Teagan Garrison scored 5 points and Avrie Warner grabbed a bucket and free throw for 3 points.

The 8th grade girls A team pulled off another win against the visiting Gorillas last Tuesday. They led big early, but had trouble keeping the tallest Gorilla out of the paint and ended up winning 28-20. Offense was led by Madison Shaw with 16 points, while Ashley Young had 5 rebounds (3 of them offensive) and Teagan Garrison had 4 rebounds, 1 steal and 3 assists. And we have to figure out how to guard people taller than us."
