The Mulvane Middle School traveled to Haysville West on Tuesday for the post-Thanksgiving games and the 7th grade girls swept the Gorillas while the 8th grade girls split. The 7A girls sit at 5-5 on the season (4-3 in league play) while the 7B girls sit at  6-4 (5-2 in league) and the 8A girls are 5-5 on the season (4-3 in league) and the 8B girls are having a great season at 9-1 (7-0 in league).

"The 7A girls started slow, but fought hard to get back in the game. Madi Cunningham had a great game scoring 8 points, all in the 4th quarter. Jade Smallwood continues to make a huge impact off the bench. Her speed and defensive pressure made the difference in the second half and shifted the momentum in our favor. Olivia Ellis and Madi Cunningham made 3 free throws late in the game that helped us gain the lead in the 4th quarter" said Coach Hansen. Olivia Ellis and Lexi Cunningham both finished with 6 points, Makenna Treat with 4 points, and Jade Smallwood and Makaylen Warner with 2 points each.

"The 7B team continues to improve defensively. Our full court pressure has created problems for most of the teams in our league. The B girls have committed to playing hard on defense and out rebounding their opponent. The effort they put in on the defensive end results in fast break opportunities for our guards. Regan Witt played an incredible and helped lead the B team to a big lead in the first quarter" said Hansen. Makenna Treat led the team with 6 points while Izzy Loveless, Jade Smallwood, and Regan Witt all finished with 4 points each. Kierra Cain and Laiken Hladik both finished with 2 points each.
