The 2-day regional wrestling tournament has come and gone and the Mulvane Wildcats have a regional champion and 5 wrestlers who are heading to state this coming Friday (2/28/2020) and Saturday (2/29/2020) at Salina - Tony's Pizza Events Center.

Junior Chadwick Stahl wrestled his way through the 120 lb weight bracket and came out on top as regional champion. This is Chadwick's second regional championship as he took 1st place last year as well. Stahl won by fall over Monte James (Winfield) in the first round, won by tech fall over Lucas Baker (Pratt) in the quarterfinal, won by fall over Jacob Finney (Clearwater) in the semifinal, and won by fall over William Gomez (El Dorado) in the 1st place match.

Senior Jon Meek (182 lb) and junior Hunter Scott (285 lb) both finished in 2nd place in their weight classes. Sophomore Trent Moses finished in 3rd place in the 132 lb weight class. Sophomore Hunter Dietrich finished in 4th place in the 106 lb weight class.

The Wildcats will travel to Salina on Friday with matches starting at 10:00 AM. Kammie Schanz will be participating in the girl's state tournament on Thursday, February 27th with matches starting at 9:00 AM. (Article on Kammie here)
