The girls basketball team hosted the Ulysses Tigers for a single post season game, Cats fall to the Tigers.

The Mulvane girls basketball team hosted the Ulysses Tigers girls team on Monday, March 2nd for a single game to end off the season (no advancement in regionals for either team).

The Wildcats were on top after the first quarter 10-7, but an 8-23 second quarter put the Cats behind by 12 at halftime. The Cats couldn't make up the ground in the 2nd half as they fell 29-49.

Karlie Kanaga led the team with 7 points, Campbell Williams, Kaitlyn Klein, and Amber Hansen all finished with 5 points each, Kamryn Nolan finished with 4 points, and Carson White finished with 3 points. Haley Hughes led the Cats in the paint with 7 rebounds.

The Wildcats traveled to Rose Hill last Thursday for the final league matchup of the season against the Rockets. The Cats had trouble breaking through the Rockets defense in the varsity and c-team games as the varsity fell 28-61, the JV won 41-31, and the C-team fell 36-41.

Carson White led the Cats in points,  rebounds, and assists this season finishing with 87 points, 111 rebounds, and 19 assists. Kamryn Nolan finished the season with 84 points, Kaitlyn Klein with 81 points, Karlie Kanaga with 62 points, Jadyn Stevenson with 55 points, Haley Chambers and Haley Hughes both finished with 54 points, Amber Hansen with 49 points, Haley Shaw with 39 points, and Campbell Williams with 27 points.

The girls finish the season with a 2-19 record and 1-9 in the AVCTL Division 4 league. Yesterday's game was the final game for Coach Daniel Myears as he announced his retirement from coaching basketball last week.
