Friday, October 3rd the Wildcats traveled to Towanda to play the Circle T-Birds, winning 48-6.

Quarterback RJ Rieger will get most of the credit for the explosion of the offensive production from the running game. However, many people undervalue the significance of the offensive line. They are a big part of why the game is so lopsided.

With seniors Brent Martin and Tyler Young, the offensive line seems to be figuring out there strengths and weaknesses. Other than those two seniors, the o-line is extremely young, starting three sophmores. Dylan Jorns at Left tackle, Marcus Chancellor at right guard, and Layne Becker at right tackle.

“We’ve been getting a lot better throughout the year,” said Martin. “Definitely in the future, they’re going to be great offensive lineman.”

Other than a great rushing performance by Rieger, we also got to witness Austin Browns first game back as the starting running back. Brown rushed for 123 yards and 2 touchdowns.

The passing game wasn’t necessary for the Wildcats, as they only threw for 121 yards and 1 touchdown. However, it was a great sign to see the Wildcats not have to rely on the passing game as much as the previous games.

Defensively, the Wildcats were an unmovable force, only allowing 156 yards of total offense. Junior Logan Elliot led the team with 9 tackles, and junior Brent Cusick was able get an interception.

The Wildcats dominated on both sides of the ball for the longest time. The junior varsity got to come in and play crunch time in the 4th quarter. The only touchdown scored on the Wildcats was when the jv was inserted into the game early in the 4th.

“We played with 100% effort the entire game,” said sophomore defensive lineman James Chancellor. “Once we got the lead, we never looked back.”

The Wildcats will play a tough game at home this Friday against the Andale Indians. Friday, October 10th. It is homecoming, so prepare to see an amped up Wildcats team.
