3 Wildcats selected to All League, 3 records broken, and Parks signs with Butler CC

A busy week for the Mulvane Volley team as they held their annual post season banquet, All League selections were released, and a Mulvane Senior signed to play college volleyball. Once the season statistics were tabulated, Coach Kollmeyer announced at the banquet that Keera Parks and Addison Seier set new school records. Keera finished the season with 118 Block Kills which surpassed the old record held by Kendra Banzet who had 116 Block Kills in the 1990-91 season. Addison Seier finished the season with 231 Digs which surpassed the old record of 222 Digs held by Carrie Burkhart (1996-97) and Kourtney Bell (2005-06). Lexie Abasolo bested her own school record for Set percentage this season with  94.6%. Her old record was 94.4% in the 2016-17 season.

The Volleyball coaches met for the AVCTL D4 All League meeting and 3 Wildcats were awarded with All-League selections. Senior Keera Parks was awarded the AVCTL D4 Second Team. She finished the season with 193 Kills (17.4%), 184 Blocks, 118 Block Kills, 258 Completed Serves (85.4%), 49 Aces, and 149 Digs.

Junior Lexi Abasolo was also awarded the AVCTL D4 Second Team. She finished the season with 991 Completed Sets (94.6%), 267 Assists (25%), 539 Completed Hits (91.5%), 175 Kills (17.4%), 14 Blocks, 5 Block Kills, 328 Completed Serves (90.1%), 60 Aces, and 193 Digs.

Junior Carson White earned AVCTL D4 Honorable Mention. She finished the season with 71 Completed Sets (89.9%), 17 Assists (21%), 403 Completed Hits (77.4%), 134 Kills (12.2%), 24 Blocks, 15 Block Kills, 208 Completed Serves (90.4%), 27 Aces, and 125 Digs.

At noon today (11/7/2018), the Mulvane Volleyball coaches gathered with Keera Parks and family and friends to see her officially sign her commitment to play college volleyball with Butler County Community College for the 2019-20 season. Keera will be the first Mulvane player to sign with Butler since Tiana Dossey in 1986. The Grizzlies finished this season with a 15-15 record and 8-8 in conference play.
