The AVCTL D3 & D4 coaches have completed their voting for Women's Soccer All League and 7 Wildcats earned All League honors for the 2019 soccer season.
Senior Grace Myears earned 1st Team All League for Defender. Grace is a 4 year veteran of the Women's Soccer Team and was moved from midfield to defender this season to cover some defense areas after last years seniors graduated. Although no defensive statistics to go by, Grace made her mark on the field with her speed, aggressiveness, and ability to get the ball out of Mulvane territory.
Junior Kolbie McDaniel earned 2nd Team All League for Forward. Kolbie is a 3 year veteran of the Women's Soccer Team and finished the season with 17 goals and 7 assists for 41 points. She currently has 46 goals in her career going in to her senior year.
Junior Katie Kanaga earned 2nd Team All League for Goalkeeper. Katie is a 3 year veteran of the Women's Soccer Team and finished the season with 125 saves and 19 goals against for an 86.8 save percentage. She also shot one penalty shot for a goal this season.
Freshman Emma Kolbe earned 2nd Team All League for Midfielder. Emma scored a school record 23 goals and also had 13 assists (another school record) in the season for 59 points. The Wildcats will look to Emma to be a big factor in their success in the next 3 years.
Senior Mady Tharp earned All League Honorable Mention for Midfielder. Mady is a 4 year veteran of the Women's Soccer Team and finished the season with 2 goals for 4 points and ended her career with 3 goals and 3 assists.
Junior Carson White earned All League Honorable Mention for Midfielder. Carson is a 3 year veteran of the Women's Soccer Team and finished the season with 8 and 3 assists for 19 points. The Cats will look to Carson for leadership next year as a senior.
Sophomore Emma Anderson earned All League Honorable Mention for Midfielder. Anderson is a 2 year veteran of the Women's Soccer Team and finished the season with 7 goals and 4 assists for 18 points. Anderson will play a pivotal role in the next couple of years for the Cats.
The Wildcats finished the season with an 11-6 record (7-2 in league play) and this marks the 4th year in a row with a winning record. There will be changes coming to the soccer team as Coach Anna Johnson announced her retirement from coaching after the season was over. "It has been one of the toughest decisions I have had to make to give up coaching, but this is going to give me time to chase my family around and spend more time with my boys. I truly am going to miss the girls and being close with them and the game. I feel as though the program is in a good spot for someone else to take over and that with all of the talent and future talent that is coming up, it will continue to see success for many years to come." said Coach Johnson. Anna coached the Wildcats from 2013-14 to 2018-19 and ends her coaching career with a 56-44-3 record.
