After weeks of practice, new Mulvane Cross Country head coach Chris Roderick and assistant coach Josh Hansen took their team to Clearwater on Thursday, Sep 5th for the season opening Cross Country meet.

The Women's Team has several returning runners with experience with 5 seniors, 4 juniors, and 3 sophomores. The girls finished in 1st place in the Junior/Senior girls 2 mile with junior Anna Moon finishing in 2nd place with a 14:27 time. Senior Josie Russell finished in 6th place with a 15:07 time. Junior Campbell Williams finished in 8th place with a 15:10 time. Senior Emily Hankins finished in 13th place with a 16:01 time. Senior Karstyn Nolan finished in 27th place with an 18:13 time. Senior foreign exchange student Ornella Garcia finished in 37th place with a 20:45 time and Junior Ashley Hively finished in 40th place with a 21:23 time.

The Men's team also has several returning runners with experience with 5 seniors, 4 juniors, and 3 sophomores. The boys finished in 4th place in the Junior/Senior boys 2 mile with senior Justus Kidd finishing with the Mulvane best time of 12:55 for 19th place followed by junior Kyle Jones with a 13:22 (25th place), senior Robby Brown with a 13:24 (26th place), senior Clement Heck with a 13:55 (39th place), senior Connor Hurley with a 14:14 (49th place), and senior JJ Mort with a 19:47 (74th place).

The Mulvane team was to host a home meet on Thursday but due to weather it was rescheduled for 9-18-19 at 4:30 PM at Mulvane High School. The team traveled to Wamego this morning for the Wamego Invitational.
