The Mulvane Girls Basketball Team faced the Indians in a league match up, fall to the Indians 1-2 on the evening.

The Mulvane Wildcats opened league play since the winter break and hosted the Clearwater Indians on Tuesday, January 14th. The Indians topped the Cats in Varsity and JV 50-37 and 48-34 respectively and the Wildcats won the C-team game 30-15. The Varsity girls currently sit at 2-6 on the season and 1-2 in league play.

The Indians jumped on the Cats early and lead 11-3 in the first quarter. The Cats had a good second quarter outscoring them 11-10 but went into halftime down 14-21. The Wildcats kept it fairly close in the second half but were outscored 23-27 for a final score of 37-50. 

Freshman Haley Shaw had a great game and lead the Cats with 11 points and a team-high 6 rebounds. Another freshman,  Jadyn Stevenson, finished with 8 points and 4 rebounds, sophomore Amber Hansen finished with 6 points and tied Shaw for a team-high 6 rebounds. Senior Carson White and freshman Karlie Kanaga both finished with 5 points and 5 and 3 rebounds respectively. Junior Haley Hughes and sophomore Kamryn Nolan both had 1 point and Hughes finished with 5 rebounds, Nolan with 1 rebound.

The girl's JV team fell to the Indians 34-48. Haley Shaw was also the point leader for the Wildcats in the JV game with 8 points and sophomore Bennett Cottrell finished with 6 points, junior Campbell Williams finished with 5 points, Karstyn Nolan and Jadyn Stevenson both with 4 points, Karlie Kanaga with 3 points, and Olivia Lampe and Lauren Young both with 2 points.

The girls C-Team played its 2nd game after a series of cancellations earlier in the season and they won 30-15 over the Indians. Freshman Lauren Young had a great game and lead the Cats with 13 points followed by freshman April Richards with 6 points, sophomore Gabby Bauerle and freshman Emma Kendrick both finished with 4 points each, and Bennett Cottrell finished with 3 points.

The Wildcats will host the Rose Hill Rockets on Friday, January 17th for Homecoming.
