The girls basketball team faced off against the Rose Hill Rockets on homecoming evening, go 1-2 on the evening.

The Mulvane girls basketball team hosted the Rose Hill Rockets for an AVCTL D4 league match-up last Friday on Homecoming night. The Wildcats finished 1-2 on the evening with varsity falling 31-49, the JV team winning 49-42, and the C-team falling 25-38.

The varsity girls got down 16-25 in the first half and couldn't quite make up the difference in the second half, outscored 15-24 for a final score of 31-49. The girls were lead by freshman Karlie Kanaga who finished the game with 10 points and 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Junior Kaitlyn Klein finished with 8 points and 2 rebounds, freshman Haley Shaw finished with 5 points and 5 rebounds, freshman Jadyn Stevenson finished with 4 points and 1 rebound, and juniors Haley Hughes and Campbell Williams both finished with 2 points each and 1 and 2 rebounds respectively.

Sophomore Amber Hansen led the team in rebounds with 7 followed by sophomore Kamryn Nolan with 6 and senior Carson White with 4, and junior Caylee Davis with 2.

The JV girls got up quickly on the Rockets with an 18-4 first quarter and didn't look back and beat the Rockets 49-42. Junior Haley Chambers lead the Wildcats in the JV game with 13 points followed by freshman Lauren Young with 9 points, sophomore Karstyn Nolan with 8 points, freshman Emma Kendrick with 7 points, freshman Karlie Kanaga with 6 points, junior Caylee Davis with 4 points, and junior Campbell Williams with 2 points.

The c-team girls won the first quarter 8-2 but a rough second quarter of 2-11 had the Cats down 10-17 at halftime. The cats didn't fare better in the second half and lost 25-38. Freshman Lauren Young lead the team with 9 points followed by sophomore Gabby Bauerle with 8 points, freshman Emma Kendrick with 4 points, and freshman Amber Hively and RJ Schiffelbein with 2 points each.

The girls will have 10 days off as this week is tournament week for the boys. The girls will resume next week as they host the Wildcat Classic.
