The men's basketball team hosted the Wellington Crusaders on senior night, fall just short of win.

The Mulvane boys basketball hosted the Wellington Crusaders in a league matchup on Tuesday, February 18th at Mulvane High School and celebrated senior night. Gage Gerlach, Kiser Jansen, Luke Coffey, Michael Manis, and Wyatt Ebersole (Mgr) and their families were recognized before the game.

The Wildcats struggled in the first quarter to get the points rolling and were outscored 2-15. They gained some momentum in the second quarter and outscored the Crusaders 17-12 but went into halftime down 19-27. They couldn't quite make up the difference in the second half and fell 61-67.

Michael Manis led the Cats with 23 points and Trey Abasolo and Ian Comer finished with 14 points each, Mason Ellis finished with 7 points, and Luke Coffey finished with 3 points. Manis led the team in rebounds with 8 boards.

The JV boys played a close game with the Crusaders but were able to keep the score just out of their reach as they defeated them 56-52. Canon Smith had a great game down in the paint and led the Cats with 14 points. Ian Comer dropped in 11 points, Aaron Ballinger finished with 9 points, Julien Myers and Trent Billingslea both finished with 6 points each, Jacob Duncan and Kelton Boster both finished with 3 points, and Mason Ellis and Sam Westfall finished with 2 points each.

The C-team boys found themselves down by 7 after the first half but had monster 20 and 21 point third and fourth quarters to grab the 58-43 win. Julien Myers and Ethan Kasparek were on fire as they led the Cats with 18 and 16 points respectively. Jacob Duncan finished with 11 points, Sam Westfall with 7 points, and Tyson Lazier, Logan Harness, and Ethan Tharp all finished with 2 points each.

The Wildcats traveled to Wichita Collegiate last Friday for a league matchup with the Spartans. The Cats had trouble breaking through the Spartan defense in all 3 levels as the varsity fell 60-89, the JV fell 57-66, and the C-team fell 57-77.
