The Mulvane Women's Soccer Team looking to build on strong core of returners for successful season.

It's a new year and new coaches, but the goals of winning remain the same for the Mulvane women's soccer team as they have been hitting the practice fields for a couple of weeks now. Coach Jesse Myers has taken the head coaching duties from Coach Anna Johnson who took over the program in 2013-14 and had a run of great seasons, going 38-13-1 the last 3 years. Coach Myers is looking to the returning starters to continue the success of the last few seasons.

The returning seniors are Koblie McDaniel, Carson White, Rileigh Shockey, Patricia Raymer, Sasha Blauser, Kylee O'Dell, and Ashley O'Daniel. Kolbie and Carson were All-League award winners last season and Kolbie is the current career goals school record holder with 45. Other returning all-League athletes are sophomore Emma Kolbe, who set the single-season goals record last season with 23 goals, and Emma Anderson who received all-league honors as a midfielder.

"I am very excited about starting the games for our upcoming season. I feel like we have plenty of 'attacking' weapons based on the first two weeks of practice. The girls have been giving great effort in our drills and conditioning sessions. The main challenge is finding an arrangement that makes us as strong of a team as possible. I anticipate shifting girls around during the first few weeks as we look for the right fit for the program," said Coach Myers.

Coach Myers has big shoes to fill in the goalkeeper position as senior Katie Kanaga will miss her senior season as she is recovering from a car accident last year. Katie has been an all-league goalkeeper for the last 3 years and finished her career with 311 saves, 88% save percentage, and 44 goals against. Katie's presence on the field will be greatly missed this season.

The 2020 season schedule is as follows:
