The Mulvane Middle School football teams hosted the Ark City Bulldogs last Thursday and left with 1 win and 1 loss. The 8th-grade team wasted no time in finding the endzone with Fisher Dye breaking loose for a 49-yard TD run. Quarterback Aiden Heckathorn added another TD with a 2-yard run. Aiden then found Brady Nelson in the endzone with a 5-yard pass to end the first quarter.

The Cats added two more scores on the ground with Dye and Heckathorn in the second quarter. Dylan Rogers added the final touches in the fourth quarter with a 1-yard run as the Cats won 38-0 to bring their record to 2-0 on the season.

The 7th-grade Cats had trouble finding the endzone against what seemed to be a rather large 7th grade Ark City team. The Cats were plagued with injuries throughout the game as at least 5 players left the game with an injury.

"We got out to a slow start and had trouble moving the ball. They had us outsized in several areas. Our defense played well and kept us in the game until the 4th quarter. We had some key injuries they made us have to move kids around to different positions. We need to get healthy to get back to our full potential," said Coach Beikman.

The Wildcats will travel to Haysville West on Thursday, September 17th, with the games starting a little earlier at 4:00 PM.
