The Mulvane Middle School football teams were back home in week 3 of season play, hosting two very good Ark City teams on Tuesday, September 12th.

Tavion Richardson kicked off the scoring for the 8th-grade Cats with a 30-yard run in the first quarter. The Wildcats went into halftime down 6-12 and didn't find the endzone again until the 4th quarter when Jeter Tatum found Tavion Richardson for a 52-yard TD pass. Ark City also scored in the 4th quarter and was able to hold on for the 18-12 win. "We got off to a good start, scoring first," said Coach Beikman. "We lost one of our starters both ways and had to move players around to fill his positions. Our kids handled this adversity very well, but we just could not find the endzone to win."

The Wildcat's score came on a defensive play in the 2nd quarter as Jaxon Treat jumped on an Ark City fumble in the endzone for a Wildcat touchdown. "I felt that our boys had their best game of the year against a talented Ark City team," said Coach Beikman. "They played hard for four quarters but came up just short. I am very proud of their efforts."
