The Mulvane Middle School Cross Country teams wrapped up their season with the Patriot League meet at Clearwater on Tuesday, October 13th and they came home with four medalists and two league champions.
8th grader Leiannah Landreth finished in first place and is the league champion with a time of 14:23 in the 2 mile run. Leiannah medaled in every race this year. Jade Smallwood came back from injury to finish strong in the league meet and finished in 8th place with a 16:27 time and a medal.
In the 8th grade boys race, Jacob Wilson finished in 5th place with a time of 13:08 and a medal. Carson Trione finished in 11th place with a time of 13:51 followed by Caiden Trione in 25th place with a time of 15:55, and Joseph Cervantes in 28th place with a time of 16:27.
7th grader Jonathan Wilson finished in first place and is the league champion with a time of 5:48 in the 1 mile run. Jonathan medaled in every race this year. Hunter Heckart finished in 22nd place with a time of 7:54 followed by Jacob Blankenship in 23rd place with a time of 10:12.
In the 7th grade girls race, Mulvane's lone runner was Kalyn Nolan who finished in 21st place with a time of 8:32 in the 1 mile run.
"We had some great performances from all the kids, 7 out of 10 had PR's while the others were close to their all time best. We had a small group this year but they did a great job considering all our restrictions and rules, 2 league champions......Leiannah Landreth for the 8th grade girls and Johnathan Wilson for the 7th grade boys. Jacob Wilson was 5th for the 8th boys while Jade Smallwood was 8th in the 8th girls race, so we had 4 medalists in all. Not bad for a small group!" said Coach Williams
