Mulvane graduate Mason Ellis (#3) was selected to join an elite list of athletes to participate in the 49th KS Shrine Bowl All-Star Game this past Saturday, July 23rd, 2022. Mason was the recipient of many awards this past season including 1st team all-state and AVCTL D4 League MVP. Mason signed with the University of Kansas to grayshirt, which would put him on the KU campus in the Spring of 2023, however after workouts and evaluations this summer, Coach Leipold offered Mason a spot on the team effective immediately, which changed Ellis's plans for the rest of the summer and this fall and changed Ellis's availability for the Shrine Bowl. Mason will wear #23 this coming fall for Kansas.

Mason is the 12th Mulvane Wildcat to be selected to participate in the All-Star Game. Below are the past players from Mulvane:

1. Brad Butts - 1978
2. Mike Bellew - 1986
3. Matt Demicoli - 2003
