The Mulvane varsity football team wins league matchup against the Circle Thunderbirds.

The Mulvane varsity football team traveled to Circle on Friday, September 20, 2024, for a league matchup against the Thunderbirds. In a game that was split into two days due to weather, the Wildcats struck first with a beautiful one-handed catch by Fisher Dye for a 16-yard TD reception. Circle added a couple of scores and Fisher Dye found the endzone again in the 2nd quarter with a 19-yard TD run. The Cats were down 15-19 at halftime. In a gutsy performance, the Wildcat defense held the Thunderbirds scoreless in the second half, even though Circle came close a few times. The Cats took the lead in the 4th quarter with a 1-yd TD run by Manny Myers and they sealed the game with a late 36-yard TD run by Fisher Dye for a final score of 29-19.

The Wildcat's offense finished the game with 374 total yards on 46 plays with 271 yards rushing and 103 yards passing. Manny Myers finished with 103 yards on 8 completions out of 15 attempts and 1 passing TD. Manny Myers finished with 149 yards rushing on 14 attempts and 1 rushing TD and Fisher Dye finished with 114 yards rushing on 15 attempts and 2 rushing TDs. Hays Ensley finished with 64 yards receiving on 3 receptions.

The Wildcat's defense was led by Dylan Rogers who finished with 10 tackles (4 solo - 6 assist) and 0.5 tackles for loss. Hays Ensley finished with 8 tackles (3 solo - 5 assist) and 0.5 tackles for loss. Fisher Dye finished with 7 tackles (3 solo - 4 assist) and 0.5 tackles for loss. Caleb Holle finished with 6 tackles (2 solo - 4 assist). Preston Grube finished with 5 tackles (1 solo - 4 assist).

The JV team hosted Circle on Monday and the Wildcats struck first in the first quarter with a 24-yard TD pass from Jeter Tatum to Hudson Myers and the Cats finished the first half with a 16-0 lead after a 3-yd TD run by Jeter Tatum. The Wildcats added one more score in the second half with a 1-yd TD pass from Jeter Tatum to Brody Clasen.
