The Mulvane Softball team kicked off their 2022-23 season with 2 wins over the Winfield Vikings.

The Mulvane High School softball team kicked off their 2022-23 season by hosting the Winfield Vikings last Thursday at the Mulvane Sports Complex. The girls took the lead in the first inning with 4 runs and added another 4 in the second inning and was able to hold on for the 14-10 win. Senior Jalin Lavers earned the win for the Cats. She tossed seven innings, giving up ten runs, fourteen hits, and walking three.

The Wildcats finished with 15 hits in the game. Regan Witt, Olivia Ellis, India Downs, Madison Phipps, Jalin Lavers, Emma Kendrick, Addison Mackey, and Makaylen Warner each grabbed hits in the game for the Cats. Regan Witt and Madison Phipps both had 3 hits to lead Mulvane. Makaylen Warner had 1 home run in the game.

The Wildcats collected 12 RBIs in the game. Regan Witt, Olivia Ellis, India Downs, Madison Phipps, Jalin Lavers, Emma Kendrick, Addison Mackey, Makaylen Warner, and Avrie Warner each grabbed RBIs for Mulvane. Olivia Ellis knocked in 3 runners to lead the Cats in RBIs.

The JV girls came out on fire as well and won the first game 17-2.

In the nightcap, the Wildcats and Vikings both scored 2 runs in the first inning, but Mulvane would take a commanding lead over the next few innings and got the 12-4 win. Senior Peyton Baggett earned the win for the Cats. She tossed seven innings, giving up four runs, four hits, and walking two.

The Wildcats collected 15 hits in the game. Jalin Lavers, Jaryn Baker, Makaylen Warner, Avrie Warner, Regan Witt, Madison Phipps, India Downs, and Addison Mackey each collected hits in the game for the Wildcats. Jalin Lavers and Makaylen Warner both had 3 hits to lead the Mulvane Wildcats. Avrie Warner had 1 home run in the game.

The Mulvane Wildcats had 9 RBIs in the game. Jalin Lavers, Makaylen Warner, Avrie Warner, Regan Witt, Madison Phipps, and Emma Kendrick each collected RBIs for the Wildcats. Jalin Lavers Makaylen Warner and Avrie Warner both had 2 RBIs to lead the Mulvane Wildcats.

The Cats finished with 2 stolen bases during the game with Jalin Lavers and Makaylen Warner both recording stolen bases.

The JV girls took control of the nightcap as well and won 11-4.
