Cats sweep Wellington to close out the regular season. Regionals up next for the Wildcats

The Mulvane softball team closed out their regular season this past week as they had one doubleheader on the road at Wellington. The Wildcats swept the Crusaders, winning game one 9-6 and winning game two 6-5. Addison Mackey earned the win for the Cats. She tossed 7 innings, giving up 6 runs (0 runs earned), 5 hits, walking 3, and 7 strikeouts.

Avrie Warner went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Mulvane in hits. Jaryn Baker, Madison Phipps, Regan Witt, and Addison Mackey each grabbed hits in the game for the Mulvane Wildcats.

The Wildcats collected 3 RBIs in the game. Addison Mackey knocked in 2 runners to lead Mulvane in RBIs and Avrie Warner had the other RBI for the Wildcats.

The Wildcats scored 9 runs in the game. Avrie Warner and India Downs both scored 2 runs to lead Mulvane. Jaryn Baker, Regan Witt, Olivia Ellis, Reece Lazier, and Blake Ferraro also scored runs for the Mulvane Wildcats.

In game 2, there were a couple of lead changes, but the Wildcats got the 6-5 win. Sophie Bruce earned the win for the Wildcats. She tossed 7 innings, giving up 5 runs (2 runs earned), 5 hits, walking 4, and 3 strikeouts.

Kinley Kendrick and Blake Ferraro both had 2 hits to lead Mulvane. Olivia Ellis and Addison Mackey each had 1 hit in the game for the Wildcats.

The Cats grabbed 6 RBIs in the game. Kinley Kendrick and Addison Mackey both had 2 RBIs to lead Mulvane. Olivia Ellis and Avrie Warner had the other 2 RBIs for the Wildcats.

The Cats scored 6 runs in the game. Kinley Kendrick crossed the plate 2 times to lead the Mulvane Wildcats in runs scored. Olivia Ellis, Regan Witt, Makaylen Warner, and Avrie Warner also scored runs for the Wildcats.

The Mulvane Wildcats stole 3 bases during the game with Kinley Kendrick, Blake Ferraro, and Avrie Warner all grabbing stolen bases.

The Wildcats finished as the #6 seed with a season record of 17-9 and will be in the Regional #3 hosted in Circle. The Cats will face the #9 seed Hugoton\Moscow on Tuesday, May 14th at 2:00 PM. The winner will face the winner of Circle (#3 seed) vs Ulysses (#14 seed) for the regional championship.
