MMS volleyball closes out season at the Patriot League Tournaments. 7th girls champs, 8th girls runner up.

The Mulvane Middle School volleyball teams closed out their 2022-23 seasons this past Saturday at the Patriot League tournaments. The 7th-grade girls traveled to Wellington and faced the Clearwater Indians in the first game of pool play. The Wildcats took care of business winning 2-0 (25-23 & 25-17) and faced the Wellington Crusaders in the next game, also winning 2-0 (25-23 & 25-17).

The bracket play was next for the Cats and they faced the Rose Hill Rockets who took the Cats to 3 games, but the Wildcats were able to win 2-1 (20-25, 25-19, & 15-13) in a very competitive matchup. The Championship game was against Winfield and the Cats dispatched the Vikings quickly, winning 2-0 (25-14 & 25-23) for the Patiot League Championship.

The 7th-grade girls had a phenominal season, finishing with a 13-5 record, a 5-4 record in league play, and the Patriot League tournament champions. The 7B girls also had a phenominal season, finishing 12-2 and a perfect 9-0 in league play.

The 8th-grade girls traveled to Rose Hill for their tournament on Satuday. The girls faced Winfield in the first game of pool play, winning 2-0 (25-12 & 26-24) against the Vikings. The girls next faced Ark City and defeated the Bulldogs 2-0 (25-19 & 25-16).

The Wildcats faced the Rose Hill Rockets in the first game of bracket play and won 2-0 (25-23 & 25-10). The Cats made it to the championship game against the good Wellington team. The Cats lost the first game 5-25, but bounced back and won the second game 25-23. The third game came down to the wire, but the Cats fell 13-15 in a very exciting game, getting 2nd place in the league tournament.

The 8th-grade girls also had a great season, finishing 12-6 on the year and 7-2 in league play, and the Patriot League Tournament runner-up. The 8B girls finished the season with a 7-7 record and 5-4 in league play.
