The Mulvane Middle School Track & Field team traveled to Haysville West MS for the Haysville West Invitational on Tuesday, May 2nd, and the Wildcats came home with 4 first-place finishes, 7 second-place finishes, and 4 third-place finishes. Cole Zimmerman finished on top in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:14.25. Colter Light grabbed the gold in the discus with a distance of 106-6. Blake Ferraro finished in 1st place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.43. Haylynn Jones finished on top in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.35.
Cole Zimmerman grabbed the silver in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:22.25. Ethan Hankins finished in 2nd place in the 3200-meter run with a time of 11:17.11. Colter Light grabbed the silver in the shot put with a distance of 38-5. Fenton Smith grabbed the silver in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 4:25.49. Bryson Canfield finished in 2nd place in the high jump with a height of 5-0. Haylynn Jones finished in 2nd place in the 200-meter hurdles with a time of 31.76 and broke a school record in the process, beating out Jacobs time of 32.26 from 2015. Norma Griffin finished in 2nd place in the discus with a distance of 65-8.
Tavion Richardson grabbed the bronze in the 200-meter hurdles with a time of 30.93. Brock Garnica grabbed the bronze in the shot put with a distance of 33-1. Sierra Schmitz finished in 3rd place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:08.43. Peyton Bartel finished in 3rd place in the 800-meter run with a time of 3:01.77.
