It's a new year and a new look for the Mulvane Wildcats men's basketball team. The Wildcats are under the direction of a new coaching staff this year except for returning assistant coach Jeff Beckwith. Coach Tommy Brumbelow joined the Wildcat family this past summer and is the new head coach of the Wildcats. Also new to the coaching staff are assistants Garrett Miller and Jayce Silmon. Mulvane kicked off their season on Friday at Kingman.

The Varsity team started hot in the first quarter, scoring 12 points, and finished the first half strong, taking a 25-12 lead into halftime. The Cats continued that momentum into the third quarter with a 20-point frame and finished strong to get the 56-36 win over the Eagles. Manny Myers led the boys with 18 points in the game and also led the team in rebounds with 6 boards. Senior Canon Lazier broke into double digits with 16 points and had 5 rebounds.

The JV team took care of business as they kept Kingman at bay all game long. The Cats jumped out ahead in the first quarter with a 26-4 lead. The Cats outscored Kingman in the second quarter and were ahead at halftime 41-14. The boys kept up the strong performance in the second half and won 65-28. Jack Entwisle led the Wildcats with 19 points and Hudson Myers and Dyllon Darling both scored in double digits with 14 and 10 points respectively.

The C-Team game was much the same as the Wildcats dominated the first half, going up 30-8 into halftime and finishing strong with a 22-17 second half for a 52-25 win. Dyllon Darling led the boys with 23 points and Kole Schwanke scored 11 points for the Cats.
