Leiannah Landreth finished on the podium at the 2024 US Marine Corps Junior Women National Championships

Mulvane Senior Leianah Landreth represented the state of Kansas and competed in the 2024 US Marine Corps Junior Women National Championships earlier this month in Fargo, North Dakota. Landreth, who wrestled in the freestyle 115 lb weight class, started her bracket with 5 impressive wins. Her first win was by a 10-0 decision over Jaelynn Mcintosh (TN), followed by a 10-0 victory over Marjorie Rodriguez (IL), a 12-2 win over Dani Ringstmeyer (SD), a win by fall over Zeta Lee (WA), and a win by fall over Angelina Vargas (MO). 

Leiannah fell in her next two matches in a 6-15 loss to Cassidy Benwell (MO), and a 1-12 loss to Lorianna Piestewa (NM). This put Landreth in the 5th/6th place match in her bracket and she finished strong with a win by fall over Marjorie Mcdaniel (WA) to secure a 5th place national finish. Landreth was one of 5 Kansas girls who finished with a AA status, the most AAs in juniors since 2008.
