The Mulvane varsity football team hosted Independence on Friday, September 13, 2024, for a non-league matchup against the Bulldogs. The Dogs scored first with a 60-yard TD run, but it was all Wildcats after that as they piled on 47 points in the first half and finished strong with a 61-14 win.
The Wildcat's offense finished the game with 493 total yards on 42 plays with 418 yards rushing and 75 yards passing. Manny Myers finished with 89 yards on 5 completions out of 6 attempts and 2 passing TDs. Fisher Dye finished with 182 yards rushing on 18 attempts and 2 rushing TDs. Grady Myers finished with 50 yards receiving on 2 receptions and had 1 TD receptions.
Dylan Rogers led the Wildcats defense and finished with 5 tackles (2 solo - 3 assist), 2.0 tackles for loss, and 0.5 sacks. Reed Hackleman finished with 5 tackles (2 solo - 3 assist), 1.5 tackles for loss, and 0.5 sacks. Ethan Everhart finished with 5 tackles (1 solo - 4 assist). Drew Miller finished with 5 tackles (1 solo - 4 assist), 0.5 tackles for loss, and 0.5 sacks. Fisher Dye finished with 3 tackles (0 solo - 3 assist), 0.5 tackles for loss.

Scoring Plays:
The JV team made the long trip to Independence on Monday and the Wildcats struck first in the second quarter with a 21-yard TD pass from Jeter Tatum to Hudson Myers and the Cats finished the 1st half with a 16-6 lead after a 36-yd TD pass from Jeter Tatum to Brody Clasen. The Wildcats added two more scores in the second half with a 12-yd TD run from Jeter Tatum and a 34-yd pass from Tatum to Hudson Myers.
