The Mulvane Middle School girls basketball teams had two away games this past week, traveling to Prairie Hills on Monday and to Rose Hill on Thursday. The 8A team had no trouble against Prairie Hills as they won the game 49-23. The girls jumped out ahead in the first half with an 18-12 lead and the Cats had a great second half, outscoring the Crusaders 31-11. Jayde Lasiter led the Cats with 20 points in the game. The 8B team took the lead during the first half, going into halftime up 13-9. Prairie Hills could not hang with the girls in the second half and the girls got the 30-18 win. Rori Turner led the Wildcats with 14 points on the evening.
It was a nail-biter of a game as the 7A team faced Prairie Hills but the Cats fell 11-13. The girls fell behind in the first half, going into halftime down 2-7. The Cats came back in the second half, outscoring the Crusaders 9-6, but the Cats fell just short. Finley Tovar led the Cats with 6 points on the evening. The 7B girls won their game with a 22-7 final score. There was no book available for the 7B game.

The girls traveled to Rose Hill on Thursday and the 8A girls dominated from the start with an 8-0 first quarter. The Wildcats would keep the pressure on and won 44-11 over the Rockets. Jillian Heersche and Jayde Lasiter led the Cats with 11 points each in the game. The 8B team had no trouble against Rose Hill as they won the game 28-18. The Cats fell behind in the first half 9-12, but a 17 point third quarter propelled the Cats to a 28-18 win. Rori Turner led the Wildcats with 12 points on the evening.
The 7A girls also fell behind in the first half but a 14 point third quarter boosted them to a 25-16 win. Finley Tovar led the Wildcats with 11 points and Khloe Schwanke also broke into double digits with 10 points. The 7B team kept up their winning streak with a 28-9 win over Rose Hill. Tenley Basinger led the Cats with 10 points in the game.

The 8A girls are sitting at 4-1 on the year and the 8B girls are 2-3. The 7A girls are sitting at 2-3 on the year and the 7B girls are still undefeated with a 5-0 record. The girls will be at home on Monday and Tuesday as they host Wellington and Winfield. The girls will be on the road on Thursday as they travel to Ark City.
