The Mulvane Middle School boys wrestling team kicked off their winter 2024 season last week as they traveled to Wellington for a triangular against Rose Hill and Wellington. The Wildcats won 12 matches against Wellington and won with a final score of 69-33. Justin Pierce, Layne Sorensen, Christian Perkins, Sawyer Hendricks, Victor Adkins, Daniel Morris, Que Wyant, Tysen Hinojos, and Caleb Taylor all won their match by fall. The Wildcats won 7 matches against Rose Hill but lost with a final score of 48-66. Layne Sorensen, Nate Meier, Victor Adkins, and Que Wyant all won their match by fall.

The Mulvane Middle School wrestling team had their first tournament on Saturday at Haysville West and the Wildcats came home with a 5th place team finish as well as several individual medalists. There were three Cats that finished in 2nd place in five that finished in 3rd place. Layne Sorensen finished in 2nd place in the 90 lb weight class, Christian Perkins finished in 2nd place in the 105 lb weight class, and Caleb Taylor finished in 2nd place in the 265 lb weight class. 

Jace Parker finished in 3rd place in the 85 lb weight class, Ben Holle finished in 3rd place in the 115 lb weight class, Victor Adkins finished in 3rd place in the 134 lb weight class, Daniel Morris finished in 3rd place in the 148 lb weight class, and Quintin Wyant finished in 3rd place in the 155 lb weight class.
