The Mulvane Middle School football teams opened up their 2024 season at Haysville West last Thursday.
The 7th-grade team got off to a great start with a 14-0 lead with touchdowns by Brody Button and Christian Perkins. Haysville West made a run in the second half, but the Wildcats were able to hold on for the 14-12 win. "For our first game, I feel good about our effort," said Coach Beikman. "We faced some adversity, but the team answered the call and was able to get the first win of their middle school career."

Mulvane scoring:
The 8th-grade team fell behind in the first quarter, but took the lead in the second quarter with passing touchdowns by Easton Tovar to Beckett Frazier and Jacob Hooten. The Wildcats were able to seal the win with a fumble recovery for a touchdown by Jaxon Treat. "We started off a little slow and got behind 12-0," said Coach Beikman. "The boys battled the entire game and were able to get the win with great effort and heart."
