The Mulvane varsity football team hosted Winfield on Friday, October 25, 2024, for a league matchup against the Vikings and the final regular season game of the year. The Cats celebrated Senior Night before the game and recognized the following senior football players: Cameron Hagerman, Brady Nelson, Fisher Dye, Julius Opitz, Dylan Rogers, Aidan Branine, Gaelin Mason-Schmidt, Preston Grube, and Nolan Fevurly.
The Wildcats got an early gift with a kickoff fumble recovery and scored on the second play with a 1-yard run by Manny Myers. Winfield added a couple scores of their own before Manny Myers found Caleb Boor for a 10-yard TD pass to bring the score to 14-14 at halftime.
The Vikings added three more scores in the second half, capitalizing on some turnovers by the Wildcats, before Fisher Dye was able to get into the endzone with a 5-yard run, but the Cats gave up another long TD run and the final score was 21-42.
The Wildcat's offense finished the game with 370 total yards on 61 plays with 250 yards rushing and 120 yards passing. Manny Myers finished with 120 yards on 11 completions out of 23 attempts and 1 passing TD. Manny Myers finished with 159 yards rushing on 19 attempts and 1 rushing TD. Fisher Dye finished with 91 yards rushing on 19 attempts and 1 rushing TD, and 36 yards receiving on 3 receptions. Caleb Boor finished with 3 receptions for 27 yards and 1 TD reception.
The Wildcats defense was led by Dylan Rogers finished with 12 tackles (8 solo - 4 assist) and 1.0 tackles for loss. Cameron Hagerman finished with 6 tackles (3 solo - 3 assist) and 1.5 tackles for loss. Fisher Dye finished with 5 tackles (3 solo - 2 assist). KJ Schanz finished with 4 tackles (2 solo - 2 assist) and 1.0 tackles for loss. Grady Myers finished with 4 tackles (3 solo - 1 assist) and 1.0 tackles for loss.

Scoring Plays:
The JV team traveled to Winfield on Monday and the Wildcats scored early and often in the first half, starting with a 5-yard run by Jeter Tatum. Tavion Richardson scored on a 1-yard TD run in the first as well. Tatum found Tanner Hargrove in the second quarter for a 43-yard TD pass. The Cats scored two more times in the second quarter with a 1-yard TD run by Keaton Grizzle and a 1-yard run by Tavon Osborn and the Cats went into halftime up 34-0.
The Wildcats scored two more times in the second half with a 46-yard TD run by Brody Clasen and a 35-yard run by Tavion Richardson and the Wildcats finished with a 47-14 win.
The Varsity team is sitting at 6-2 on the year and 3-2 in league play and the JV team finished their season at 6-2 on the year. The Wildcats will face Augusta next in the first game of the 4A State Playoffs at home this Friday, November 1st.
