The Mulvane Middle School football teams had their first home games of the season last Thursday, hosting the Ark City Bulldogs.
The 7th-grade team had a competitive 1st quarter with two touchdowns by Diesyl Lasiter and Brody Button, but Ark City was able to get two in the endzone as well. The Wildcats added one more touchdown in the second quarter with a Diesyl Lasiter run. The Wildcats defense held Ark City scoreless and the Cats won 28-18 after a Christian Perkins 49-yard run in the 3rd. "The team continued to improve in week two getting the win over Ark City," said Coach Beikman. "We had a great night on offense and were able to move the ball most of the game."

Mulvane scoring:
The 8th-grade team fell behind in the first quarter but had a nice 63-yard TD pass from Beckett Frazier to Jacob Hooten. Ark City was able to get quite a few scores in the second quarter and the Wildcats added one more of their own with a 37-yard TD pass from Hollis Ensley to Jacob Hooten. Hollis Ensley added one more score for the Cats with a 5-yard run, but the Wildcats fell 18-54. "We knew going into this game that we would have to play a great game to have a chance to win," said Coach Beikman. "We were able to move the ball much of the game, but just could not stop them on defense."
