The Mulvane Middle School football teams were on the road again last Thursday, traveling to Clearwater for a matchup against the Indians.
The 7th-grade team got on the board in the first quarter with a 1-yard touchdown run by Brody Button and a 2-point conversion by Layne Sorensen. The Wildcats scored again in the second quarter with an 8-yard run by Layne Sorensen and a 2-point conversion by Christian Perkins. The Cats sealed the 22-6 win with a nice 57-yard TD run by Brody Button in the 4th quarter. "The 7th grade put together a complete game after a rough couple of weeks," said Coach Beikman. "They executed both offense and defense very well and that showed on the scoreboard. We hope to build off this game and finish the season strong."

In the 8th-grade game, the Wildcats jumped on the board first quarter with a 10-yard TD pass by Easton Tovar to Jaxon Treat. The Indians defense was able to keep the Wildcats out of the endzone the rest of the night as the Cats fell 8-22. "We played a very tough Clearwater team and came up a little short," said Coach Beikman. "Our boys played hard the entire game and never gave up. I am proud of the effort they put forth."

The 8th grade boys move to 3-2 on the year and the 7th grade boys are at 3-2 as well. The MMS boys will be back home next week as they will host the Winfield Vikings.
