The Mulvane Middle School football teams had their second home games of the season last Thursday, hosting the Wellington Knights.

The 7th-grade team got on the board in the second quarter after a very nice 37-yard interception was returned for a touchdown by Brody Button. The Wildcats had trouble getting the ball in the endzone the rest of the game as they fell 6-20 to the Knights. "We could not get anything going on offense which put the ball in Wellington’s hands much of the night," said Coach Beikman. "We faced some adversity with several injuries and had to move players around to fill spots."

The second half was all Wildcats as the defense held the Knights scoreless and the Cats added one more score with a 1-yard run by Ensley. "This was a total team effort. We had great play from our offensive line," said Coach Beikman. "These boys are figuring out how to play as a team and it is showing on the scoreboard. They are a fun group to be a part of."
