The Mulvane varsity football team hosted Augusta on Friday, September 27, 2024, for a league matchup against the Orioles. The Wildcats and Orioles were scoreless after the first quarter, but the Wildcats got on the board early in the second with a 1-yard run by Fisher Dye. The Cats found the endzone twice in the third quarter by quarterback Manny Myers with 43 and 36 yard TD runs. The Wildcats kept the Orioles scoreless and won 19-0.
The Wildcat's offense finished the game with 283 total yards on 44 plays with 218 yards rushing and 65 yards passing. Manny Myers finished with 65 yards on 9 completions out of 11 attempts. Manny Myers finished with 159 yards rushing on 16 attempts and 2 rushing TDs and Fisher Dye finished with 65 yards on 15 attempts and 1 TD. Grady Myers finished with 32 yards receiving on 4 receptions.
The Wildcat defense was led by Fisher Dye who finished with 9 tackles (5 solo - 4 asst) and 2.0 tackles for loss. Dylan Rogers finished with 5 tackles (3 solo - 2 asst) and 1.0 tackles for loss. Grady Myers finished with 5 tackles (4 solo - 1 asst). Preston Grube finished with 4 tackles (1 solo - 3 asst). KJ Schanz finished with 4 tackles (0 solo - 4 asst) and 0.5 tackles for loss.

Scoring Plays:
The JV team traveled to Augusta on Monday and the Wildcats got on the board first in the second quarter with a safety when Kreedence Lavers and Ethan Everhart tackled the quarterback in the endzone. The Wildcats had a narrow 2-0 lead going into halftime but extended the lead in the third quarter when Paxton Richardson returned an interception 43 yards for a touchdown. The Wildcats put the finishing touches on the win with a 12-yard TD pass from Jeter Tatum to Brody Clasen in the fourth quarter.
The Wildcats will be back in action on Friday at home for the 2024 Fall Homecoming game and will be playing El Dorado.
