The Mulvane football team took care of business on homecoming night as Treat and Rogers earn homecoming crown.

The Mulvane varsity football team hosted El Dorado on Friday, October 4, 2024, for a non-league matchup for the fall homecoming game. The Mulvane Wildcats scored early and often against the other Wildcats as the green and white won easily 57-0 for their first back-to-back shutout since the 2012 season. Quarterback Manny Myers found brother Grady Myers twice in the game for 35 yard and 23 yard TD passes. Manny Myers also ran for 4 touchdowns of 6 yards, 19 yards, 52 yards, and 7 yards. Fisher Dye had himself a touchdown as well with a 9 yard TD run. Kurtis Caruthers also had a running touchdown of 6 yards. Junior kicker Gunner Uhrig had his first field goal of the year and his career with a 30 yard field goal in the second quarter.

During the halftime homecoming ceremony, seniors Dylan Rogers and Makenna Treat were crowned king and queen for the 2024 Fall Homecoming. The homecoming court consisted of Alaina Beckwith, Preston Grube, Olivia Ellis, Fisher Dye, Cooper Slayton, and Regan Witt. The attendants were Avery Fennewald and Cameron and Carson Breese.

The Wildcat's offense finished the game with 494 total yards on 53 plays with 312 yards rushing and 182 yards passing. Manny Myers finished with 182 yards on 12 completions out of 16 attempts and 2 passing TDs. Manny Myers finished with 112 yards rushing on 7 attempts and 4 rushing TDs. Kurtis Caruthers finished with 103 yards rushing and 1 TD and Fisher Dye finished with 87 yards rushing and 1 TD. Grady Myers finished with 80 yards receiving on 4 receptions and had 2 TD receptions.

The Wildcats defense was led by Caleb Holle finished with 8 tackles (3 solo - 5 assist) and 1.0 tackles for loss. Aidan Branine finished with 5 tackles (1 solo - 4 assist) and 1.0 tackles for loss. Preston Grube finished with 4 tackles (0 solo - 4 assist) and 1.0 tackles for loss. Drew Miller finished with 4 tackles (0 solo - 4 assist) and 0.5 tackles for loss. Cameron Hagerman finished with 3 tackles (1 solo - 2 assist) and 1.0 tackles for loss.

The JV team traveled to El Dorado on Monday and the Wildcats scored early and often just like the varsity game. Jeter Tatum had a great game at quarterback and had 5 passing touchdowns in the game, two to Fenton Smith, two to Brody Clasen, and one to Hudson Myers. Keaton Grizzle also had a touchdown in the game with a nice 88 yard run in the first quarter. Kole Schwanke also returned a fumble for a TD in the game.

Both the varsity and JV are sitting at 4-1 on the year and the Wildcats will face McPherson next as the varsity will travel to MAC on Friday and the JV will be at home on Monday.
