The Mulvane Middle School girls' basketball teams had two home games last week as they hosted Circle on Tuesday and Clearwater on Thursday. It was a tale of two halves for the 8A girls against Circle as they took a 25-14 lead into halftime, but the girls had trouble scoring in the second half and fell to the Thunderbirds 34-42. Jillian Heersche led the girls with 17 points on the evening and Jayde Lasiter scored 10 points for the Cats.
The 8B girls fell behind in the first half, only scoring 5 points and went into halftime down 5-18. The Cats scored 20 in the second half but could not make up the difference with a final score of 25-38. Rori Turner led the Wildcats with 15 points in the contest.
The 7A had trouble breaking through the Circle defense all evening as they fell 7-33. Circle jumped out ahead of the girls in the first half as the girls went into halftime down 1-14. Circle held the Wildcats at bay in the second half and the Wildcats fell 7-33. Khloe Schwanke led the Wildcats with 6 points on the evening.
It was a hard-fought game between both teams as the 7B team faced Circle and the Cats came out on top 15-14. Circle jumped out ahead of the Wildcats in the first half as the Wildcats went into halftime down 2-8. The Wildcats closed out the second half of the game by outscoring Circle 13-6 and got the win 15-14. Kenley Womack led the Wildcats with 9 points in the game.

The 8A team had no trouble against Clearwater as they won the game 44-20. The girls jumped out ahead in the first half with an 18-10 lead. The girls had a monster 17-point fourth quarter, finishing strong for the 24-point win. Sophia Comer led the Wildcats with 15 points and Jillian Heersche broke into double digits with 12 points.
It was a hard-fought game between both teams as the 8B team faced Clearwater and the girls fell 15-17. The girls had an 11-4 lead going into the fourth quarter, but Clearwater made a comeback for the win. Rori Turner led the Wildcats with 11 points in the game.
The 7A had trouble getting points to fall against Clearwater as they fell 6-18. The girls fell behind in the first half, going into halftime down 0-5. The Cats were outscored in the second half 6-13 and fell 6-18. Finley Tovar led the Cats with 3 points on the evening.
It was a nail biter of a game as the 7B team faced Clearwater but the Wildcats came out on top 12-11. The girls jumped out ahead in the first half with a 5-4 lead at halftime. The Wildcats were outscored in the second half 4-5, but were able to hang on for the 12-11 win. Annabelle Nett and Josie Knodel led the girls with 3 points each in the contest.

The 8A girls are sitting at 7-3 on the year and 4-1 in league play. The 8B girls are 3-6 on the year and 2-2 in league play. The 7A girls are sitting at 4-6 on the year and 3-2 in league play. The 7B girls are 7-3 on the year and 3-2 in league play. The girls will wrap up the regular season next week at El Dorado on Monday and at home on Thursday against Haysville.
