The Mulvane High School girls basketball team opened up their season on Friday, December 6th on the road at Kingman. Coach Nicole Peschel and the Wildcats came out strong against the Eagles, scoring 17 points in the first quarter. The Cats outscored Kingman in the second quarter and were ahead at halftime 26-15. The 3rd quarter was a defensive effort between both teams, but the Cats had a strong 4th quarter and got a 50-36 win. Freshman Brittani Peschel led the girls with 15 points on the evening and Kierra Cain and Reece Lazier both scored in double digits with 13 and 10 points respectively. Lazier also led the team in rebounds with 5.
The JV team had no trouble against Kingman as they won the game 45-13. The girls took a 19-8 lead in the first quarter went into halftime up 35-10. The Cats won the second half 10-3 to secure the win. Brittani Peschel led the girls with 12 points in the game and junior Jaryn Baker dropped in 11 points. The C-team played only 2 quarters and the Mulvane girls won the game 15-10. Haylynn Jones led the girls with 6 points in the game and Juliana Holman scored 5 points and Carlee Cole dropped in 4 points.
