The Mulvane High School boys wrestling team had two tournaments and a dual last week before the Christmas break. The Cats traveled to Wellington on Thursday for a dual with the Crusaders. The Wildcats won 7 matches against Wellington and won the dual with a final score of 38-32. Koehn Dietrich, Gaelin Mason-Schmidt, Cameron Hagerman, and KJ Schanz all won their match by fall.

Nine of the varsity boys traveled to Bishop Carroll on Saturday to take on some big schools at the Bishop Carroll Invitational. The Wildcats finished in 15th place with 30.5 points and senior Koehn Dietrich finished in 2nd place in the 120 lb weight class with 2 wins by fall and 1 win by tech-fall.

The rest of the Wildcats traveled to Chase County on Saturday and the Cats had three wrestlers finish in 1st place and the team finished in 2nd place with 137.5 points. Jaxon Avila finished on top in the 120 lb weight class, going 5-0 on the day. Kreedence Lavers grabbed the gold in the 126 lb weight class with 4 wins on the day. Ethan Everhart finished in 1st place with 3 wins and no losses in the 190 lb weight class. Tegan Thrash finished in 2nd place in the 126 lb weight class. Hunter Landis finished in 3rd place in the 132 lb weight class.

The Wildcats will be back in action on Thursday, January 9th, hosting a dual against Buhler.
