The Mulvane Middle School girl's basketball had another busy week last week with three games played before the Thanksgiving break. The girls hosted Wellington on Monday and the 8A girls had a nail-biter of a game against the Knights but the Wildcats fell 31-36. Jayde Lasiter led the Cats with 11 points on the evening. The 8B girls had trouble breaking through the Wellington defense all evening as they fell 12-32. Rori Turner led the girls with 6 points in the game.
The 7A girls kept the game close in the first half, only down by 5 points, but the Knights were able to pull away in the second half and the girls fell 22-32. Finley Tovar led the Cats with 8 points on the evening. The 7B team had a very close game but were edged out by just a few points with a score fo 16-21. Isabella Hill led the girls with 10 points on the evening.

In a quick turnaround, the girls hosted the Winfield Vikings on Tuesday. The 8A team jumped out to a 19-0 lead in the first quarter and had no trouble against Winfield as they won the game 49-13. Jayde Lasiter led the Cats with 12 points on the evening. There was no 8th-grade B game as Winfield was short on players.
It was a hard-fought game between both teams as the 7A team faced Winfield and the girls came out on top 23-16, capped off by a 14-1 fourth-quarter run to get the Cats the win. Jorgia Holman and Khloe Schwanke led the girls with 6 points each in the game. The 7B team fought hard but a tough second half for the Cats found them down by 7 at the final buzzer, falling 21-28.Kenley Womack led the Wildcats with 10 points on the evening.

The final games of the week were away as the Cats traveled to Ark City. The 8A team had no trouble against Ark City as they won the game 63-19. The girls took the lead during the first half, going into halftime up 44-9. Ark City was not able to hang with the Cats in the second half and the Cats got the 63-19 win. Jillian Heersche led the Wildcats with 19 points on the evening. Sophia Comer and Jayde Lasiter also broke into double digits with 17 and 11 points respectively. The 8B team also took care of business and won the game 31-18. Rori Turner led the girls with 15 points and Lyllie Brunnelson finished with 14 points for the Cats.
The 7A defense clamped down on the Bulldogs as the girls held them to just 4 points in the game, coming in the 4th quarter and the Cats won 33-4. Finley Tovar led the girls with 15 points in the contest. The 7B girls fell 19-25 and there was no book available from the game.
