The Mulvane High School girl's wrestling team kicked off their 2024-25 season last week, hosting a dual against McPherson on Thursday, December 5th. The Wildcats have a very young team this year with just 1 senior, 4 juniors, 4 sophomores, and 13 freshmen. The Wildcats won 3 matches against McPherson but lost with a final score of 18-64. Leiannah Landreth and Makenzie Rogers won their match by fall.

The varsity girls traveled to Valley Center on Saturday for their first tournament of the season. The Wildcats finished in 6th place as a team with 78 points. The Cats had one 1st place finish and one 3rd place finish in the tournament. Senior Leiannah Landreth grabbed the gold with 5 wins by fall in the 125 lb weight class. Junior Elaina Gamble finished in 3rd place in the 155 lb weight class, going 2-2 on the day with two wins by fall.

The JV girls traveled to Wichita Southeast to participate in the Southeast Invitational. The Wildcats had one 3rd place finish in the tournament as freshman Keileigh Burke grabbed the bronze in the 125 lb weight class, going 3-1 on the day with three wins by fall.
