The Mulvane High School basketball team celebrated Homecoming last Friday and hosted Winfield for a league matchup against the Vikings. The varsity boys started hot and won the first quarter 18-16 and kept up the pressure in the second quarter, and the Wildcats went into halftime up 35-32. Winfield outscored the Cats in the 3rd quarter and the teams were all tied up going into the 4th. The Wildcats finished strong and got the 82-78 homecoming win. Manny Myers led the Wildcats with 26 points in the game and Canon Lazier had a great game and finished with 25 points and team leading 8 rebounds. Jack Entwisle broke into double digits with 17 points.
During halftime, the Wildcats celebrated the 2024-25 Winter Homecoming, and seniors Leiannah Landreth and foreign exchange student Julius Optiz were crowned king and queen. The homecoming court consisted of Cydnee Adams, Gaelin Mason-Schmidt, Mallory Ramos, Dylan Paul, Jade Smallwood, and Koehn Dietrich.
The JV team took care of business and cruised to a 50-21 victory over the Vikings. The Wildcat defense did not allow Winfield to score in double digits in any quarter. No JV stats are available at this time. The C team jumped out ahead with a great first half, going into halftime 25-7, and finished strong for the 45-33 win. Kole Schwanke led the Cats with 20 points in the game. Parker Kraft finished with 12 points.

Mulvane hosted Buhler last Monday in a makeup game and the Cats had a great first half and went into halftime up 30-23. A tough 3rd quarter for the Wildcats was the difference in the game as the Cats fell 57-62. Jack Entwisle led the boys with 16 points and three other Cats scored in double digits, Canon Lazier with 13, Manny Myers with 12, and Cooper Slayton with 10 points. Entwisle also led the team in rebounds with 6 boards.
The JV team had a competitive game against the Crusaders, but the Cats fell 57-68. Dyllon Darling led the Wildcats with 23 points in the game and Parker Kraft finished with 12 points. The C-team took care of business and got a 51-39 win over the Crusaders. Parker Kraft led the Cats with 23 points on the evening.
