The Mulvane men's basketball team go 2-1 in the Roadrunner Classic, finish in 5th place.

The Mulvane men's basketball team participated in the Chaparral Roadrunner Classic last week. The Cats opened the tournament facing the hosting team Chaparral on Thursday. The Wildcats had a 14-10 lead after the first quarter, but the Roadrunners had a 24-11 second quarter to take a 34-25 lead into halftime. The Wildcats bounced back in the second half but fell just short with a 53-56 final score. Manny Myers led the Wildcats with 14 points and also on the boards with 6 rebounds.

The Wildcats next opponent was against Belle Plaine on Friday. The Cats jumped out ahead in the first half 30-12 and finished strong in the second half to get the 56-35 win. Manny Myers led the Wildcats with 15 points in the game and Jack Entwisle and Canon Lazier both scored in double digits with 14 and 11 points respectively. Cooper Slayton and Dyllon Darling led the Cats in rebounds with 5 boards each.

The final game for Mulvane was against the Circle Thunderbirds for 5th place. The Cats jumped out ahead in the first quarter with a 16-4 lead but Circle made a comeback in the second quarter and got the game within 1 point with a halftime score of 19-18. The Wildcats broke open the game in the third quarter behind sophomore Jack Entwislek, who scored 14 of his team-high 19 points in the 3rd quarter. The Cats finished strong and won 55-39. Jack Entwisle led the Cats with 19 points in the game. Canon Lazier had a monster game as well, getting a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds.

Mulvane juniors Canon Lazier and Manny Myers were selected to the 2025 Roadrunner Classic All-Tournament team. Canon finished the tournament with 38 points and 21 rebounds and Manny finished with 34 points and 15 rebounds.
