The Mulvane Middle School boys basketball team hosted Haysville West last week on Monday, January 27th. The 8A boys had a very close exciting game against the Gorillas. The Cast took a 25-19 lead into halftime and the boys still had a 6 point lead going into the 4th quarter. The Gorillas made a comeback, but the Cats were able to hold on for the 44-42 win. Hollis Ensley led the Wildcats with 18 points in the game. The 8B had trouble breaking through the Haysville West defense all evening as they fell 28-46. Brady Beikman led the Cats with 14 points on the evening.
The 7A team had no trouble against Haysville West, winning the game 49-26. The Cats jumped out ahead in the first half with an 18-12 lead at halftime. The Cats closed out the second half of the game by outscoring Haysville West 31-14 and winning 49-26. Christian Perkins led the boys with 14 points and Aiden Meek and Diesyl Lasiter broke into double digits with 12 and 11 points respectively. The 7B team took care of business as they kept Haysville West at bay all game long. It was neck and neck in the first half as the Cats and Haysville West were tied 12-12 going into halftime. Haysville West was not able to hang with the boys in the second half and the boys got the 31-18 win. Diesyl Lasiter led the Wildcats with 10 points in the contest.

The Wildcats traveled to Circle on Thursday, January 30th and the Wildcats had a tough night all around. The 8A boys fell behind in the first half 0-18 and was unable to mount a comeback in the second half, falling 12-37. Jaxon Treat led the Cats with 5 points on the evening. The 8B team also fell behind in the first half, going into halftime down 9-26. The Wildcats had a great second half, but fell 21-30. Bronson Myers led the boys with 10 points in the game.
The 7A had trouble breaking through the Circle defense all evening as they fell 20-50. The boys fell behind in the first half 3-29. The Wildcats were able to get some buckets in the second half, but fell in the end 20-50. Christian Perkins led the boys with 8 points in the contest. The 7B boys went into halftime down 11-25 and were unable to mount a comeback in the second half, falling 22-46. Jace Parker and Axel Meek led the Wildcats with 7 points each in the game.
