The Mulvane Middle School boys basketball team traveled to Winfield last Monday for a matchup against the Vikings. In the 8A game, Winfield jumped out ahead of the Cats in the first half as the Cats went into halftime down 16-27. The Wildcats were outscored in the second half 17-22 and fell 33-49. Hollis Ensley led the Cats with 13 points in the game.
It was a hard-fought game between both teams as the 8B team faced Winfield and the boys came out on top 31-27. The Wildcats jumped out ahead in the first half with a 14-9 lead at halftime. The Cats were outscored in the second half 9-14, but were able to hang on for the 31-27 win. Brigham Gear led the Cats with 7 points on the evening.
It was a nail-biter of a game as the 7A team faced Winfield but the Wildcats fell 32-39. The boys fell behind in the first half, going into halftime down 11-15. Winfield held the boys at bay in the second half and the boys fell 32-39. Axel Meek led the Cats with 11 points in the contest.
The 7B had trouble getting points to fall against Winfield as they fell 17-31. The Cats had a tough 2-12 first quarter and were unable to make a comeback. Gunner McGraw led the boys with 4 points in the game.

The Wildcats hosted Ark City on Thursday of last week. The 8A team faced a very tough Ark City team and fell behind 13-27 in the first half. The Wildcats battled hard in the second half but fell 32-51. Hollis Ensley led the Wildcats with 18 points in the game. The 8B boys started strong in the first quarter, but a tough 6-19 second quarter found the Cats down at halftime. The Cats battled in the second half but fell 33-50. Brigham Gear and Brady Beikman led the boys with 6 points each on the evening.
The 7A team took care of business as they kept Ark City at bay all game long. The Wildcats jumped out ahead in the first quarter with a 16-2 lead and went into halftime up 36-5. The Wildcats coasted in the second half and got the 48-14 win. Diesyl Lasiter led the Wildcats with 15 points in the game.
The 7B team started hot in the first quarter with an 11-0 lead and the Wildcats were able to hold on for the 20-13 win. Diesyl Lasiter led the boys with 7 points in the contest.
