The Mulvane girls basketball team hosted Hugoton on Wednesday in the first game of 4A West Sub-state. A tough first half for the Wildcats found them down 7-19 at halftime. The Cats battled back and had a great third quarter to get them within 2 points. The girls fought hard in the fourth quarter, but fell 34-43 to bring their 2024-25 season to a close. Brittani Peschel led the Cats with 12 points in the game and also led the Cats on the board with 8 rebounds.

The Wildcats had a great season and finished with an 11-10 record and 6-4 in AVCTL D3 league play for second place behind Buhler. The Wildcats were led by freshman Brittani Peschel, who finished with 275 points (75 2-pointers, 17 3-pointers, and 74 free throws) and also led the Cats in assists with 106 and steals with 77. Senior Olivia Ellis finished with 205 points and led the team in 3-pointers made with 43 and a school record. Ellis finished with 54 rebounds, 23 assists, and 19 steals. Junior Kylie Schwanke led the team in rebounds this season with 102 boards and finished with 156 pts, 20 assists, and 35 steals. Senior Kierra Cain finished with 94 points, 45 rebounds, and 49 steals. Senior Reece Lazier finished with 87 points, 74 rebounds, and 23 steals.
