Junior Drew Ellis scores 37 and sets 3-point record of 9 in single game.

Mulvane Junior Drew Ellis had the hot hand in Tuesday's game versus Clearwater as Mulvane defeated the Indians 66-63. Drew finished the evening with 37 points and a school record 9 three pointers in the game.  The previous record was held by Dylan Donaldson (07-08) and Ty Redington (12-13) who both knocked down 7 three pointers in a game. Drew missed the single game scoring record by 6 points (43 set by Daniel Brauser in the 1969-70 season). Drew finished with 9 three's, 5 buckets, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals.

"It was good to see Drew be rewarded for all the hard work and dedication he has put into being the best basketball player he can." said Coach Abasolo.

Freshman Trey Abasolo added 15 points to the Wildcats score with 4 three pointers, 1 bucket, and 1 free throw. Senior Caleb Dameron finished with 8 points, Junior Jeret Plummer with 4 points, and Senior Kylar Long with 2 points. Dameron lead the team in rebounds with 6 defensive and 3 offensive boards.

The Wildcats will travel to El Dorado tomorrow to face the Wildcats in a non-league match up to finish the week. Next week will be the Thunderbird Classic Tournament in Chaparral and the Wildcats will face Belle Plaine in the first game on Wednesday, January 17 at 6:00 PM.
